Equiroots was created from a belief that meaningful growth begins with feeling safe, seen and connected.
Founded by Ursula James, an applied psychologist and horse professional originally from the Netherlands and now based in California, Equiroots grew from bringing two worlds together: psychology and horses.
Over the years, Ursula worked with children, teens and individuals while developing a strong interest in understanding behavior and creating environments where people feel safe enough to grow. Through that journey, one thing kept standing out: horses communicate in a way that often reaches beyond words — creating opportunities for awareness, confidence and meaningful connection.
Today, Equiroots combines psychology, horse-guided experiences and experiential learning to support confidence, communication, self-awareness and personal growth in a calm and supportive environment.
Based at Cavallo Riding Center in Tracy, California, Equiroots welcomes youth, adults, families and collaborations with educators, counselors and support networks.
